What should I wear to my nephew’s wedding ?
I’ve raised my nephew since he was 5 years old, however, his mother still lives in our town. I am doing the parent duties and paying for things parents should pay for. But his mother will also be at the wedding. Am I mother of the groom? or not? I don’t want to step on toes, but don’t want to disappoint my nephew either. How should this be handled?

I think you should wear a mother of the groom gown since you raised him. If you don’t feel comfortable just wear a pant suite or a dress.

You’re mom as far as I am concerned. Enjoy the day as a mom!

If it is in the morning u should always wear something that is light which includes: a hat, skirt, blazer and maybe a shirt from under. If the wedding is in the evening wear something more like navy blue, that type of colours. By the way have a good time and wish your nephew a happy living

You may have to face the fact that the mother will fill the physical spot in the order of things usually occupied by the MOG, but you are certainly to be an honored family member, sitting with the groom’s family and dressed accordingly. I would go with your own choice of dress that you would have picked if you were actually the MOG (which you know in your heart you are)…you have earned the right to stand proud in a place of honor, on equal parity with the one that gave him birth.

Ask him what he thinks. I would dress very nicely. Are you in the wedding or a spectator? That would be the deciding factor.
